5th Grade- Rancho El Chorro Outdoor School
The 5th grade trip is a 3 days/2 night excursion to the Rancho El Chorro Outdoor School. Tucked away in the hills above San Luis Obispo is Rancho El Chorro Outdoor School, a natural preserve, a school campus, and an extraordinary learning resource. On 250 protected acres, students literally reach out and touch the natural world and explore their place within it. Rancho El Chorro Outdoor School provides hands-on learning opportunities for students to study science and ecology in a natural setting.
6th Grade- Catalina Island Marine Institute (CIMI)
The 6th grade trip is a 5 days/4 night excursion to Catalina Island Marine Institute (CIMI). Catalina Island is a beautiful natural laboratory. Catalina Island Marine Institute (CIMI) is a unique outdoor science school, providing an exciting outdoor education experience for 4 through 12th grade students from public and private schools. The program is offered at three locations on Catalina Island, including Toyon Bay, Fox Landing, and Cherry Cove. During our five day programs, students and teachers enjoy a variety of hands-on labs and field activities in Marine Science and Island Ecology. CIMI is a STEM based program.
