Field Trips:

Fifth grade students at La Patera are fortunate to participate in an overnight fieldtrip to Rancho El Chorro. Rancho El Chorro Outdoor School provides hands-on learning opportunities for students to study science and ecology in a natural setting. Another one of our favorite field trips is to the UCSB Chemistry Lab where the students have an opportunity to participate in hands-on science experiments and work with real scientists! All GUSD fifth grade students attend the Goleta School District Health Fair. Representatives from the American Heart Association, the S.B. County Fire Department and the Santa Barbara City Nursing Program are just a few of the presenters who share their wisdom and promote a healthy lifestyle.
